Safety and sheet vinyl

Slip-resistant safety vinyl for wet areas, hygienic sheet vinyl for kitchens, aged care and amenities, and luxury vinyl tile for offices and apartments, installed with coved edges and heat-welded seams where the area demands it.

The floors that have to work hardest.

Bathrooms, kitchens, salons, aged care rooms and amenities need floors that are safe underfoot, easy to clean and watertight at the seams. That comes down to the product being right for the area and the installation being done properly: a sound substrate, welded seams and coved edges with no gaps for water or dirt.

We install whatever quality vinyl is specified, from slip-resistant safety vinyl and sheet vinyl to luxury vinyl tile and plank, including diagonal and bordered LVT layouts in front-of-house spaces.

In wet areas, we prepare screeds to falls so water runs to the floor waste, then install the vinyl over a smooth, sound substrate. Every resilient floor starts with moisture testing and floor preparation.

How we install vinyl.

Vinyl shows everything underneath it, so the substrate gets as much attention as the finish.

  1. Check the specification

Product, slip rating, coving and seam details confirmed against the finishes schedule.

  2. Test and prepare

Slab moisture tested, screeds laid to falls in wet areas, and the floor smoothed so nothing shows through.

  3. Set out

Seam positions, patterns and borders planned so joins sit where they should.

  4. Install and weld

Vinyl adhered, coved where specified, and seams heat-welded for a watertight, hygienic finish.

  5. Protect and hand over

Floors protected through to handover, with care and maintenance information.

Retirement living and aged care flooring

Common questions.

Sheet vinyl or luxury vinyl tile?

Sheet vinyl comes in wide rolls and can be heat-welded and coved into one continuous, watertight surface, which suits wet areas, kitchens and aged care. Luxury vinyl tile and plank (LVT) is laid as individual pieces and is used where a timber or stone look matters, such as offices, apartments and front-of-house spaces.

What slip rating does a wet area need?

It depends on the area and how it’s used, and it’s set by the project’s specification. Safety vinyls are tested and classified for slip resistance under Australian Standard AS 4586, and we install the product with the rating specified for each area.

Why are vinyl floors coved up the wall?

Coving takes the vinyl up the wall in a smooth curve instead of a sharp corner, with the seams heat-welded. It removes the gap where dirt and water collect, which is why it’s used in aged care, healthcare, kitchens and amenities.

Do you prepare screeds in wet areas?

Yes. We lay screeds to falls in wet areas so water drains to the floor waste, then install the vinyl over the finished screed.
