Briz Floors was started in Brisbane in 2013 by a qualified floor layer who still makes the technical calls. Family-owned, and here for the long haul.
Our story.
Brendon Krytenberg didn’t come to flooring because he saw a business opportunity. He came to it on the tools. A qualified Flooring Technician with a Certificate III in Flooring Technology, he learned the trade laying carpet, vinyl, timber and resilient floors, and found out first-hand what makes a floor last and what makes one fail.
In 2013 he started Briz Floors in Brisbane on a simple idea: builders deserve a flooring contractor run by someone who understands the work from the slab up. Today Briz Floors delivers complete flooring packages for apartment towers, retirement living and multi-floor office fitouts across Brisbane and the Gold Coast, for some of Queensland’s most respected builders and developers.
The business is still family-owned, and Brendon still leads it. Every technical decision, from the floor preparation system to the product that goes down, is made by someone who has laid floors, not just managed people who do.
“I’ve laid floors. I know what a proper install takes, and I know every shortcut that comes back to bite someone at handover. That’s why we test the slab before we commit, why we won’t lay a floor on a slab that isn’t ready, and why we split estimating and delivery into two teams. A builder shouldn’t have to manage their flooring contractor.”

Moisture and flatness are tested before we commit to a program, and any preparation is priced and agreed up front, not discovered halfway through.
We don’t cut corners to win
Manufacturer moisture and flatness tolerances aren’t negotiable. If a floor won’t carry its warranty, we’ll tell you before it goes down.

Every project manager is backed by a founder who can walk your site, read a substrate and solve a detail on the spot.

Apprentices on our own books and through Apprenticeships Queensland, learning the trade the way it should be done.
